Mission Statement
Within the Jesuit tradition of education of Creighton University the mission of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Division is to provide high-quality continuing medical education for our faculty and other physicians and health care professionals. The CME Division will plan educational opportunities so that physicians may maintain and enhance the quality of their clinical practice and health sciences/medical scholars may become better teachers or researchers.
Mission Goals
- To provide relevant continuing medical education for physicians and health care professionals, based on identified educational needs. This will reflect recent developments in biomedical sciences, clinical practice in all specialties, medical ethics and health care delivery. CME activities are presented as departmental conferences and grand rounds, formalized conferences, seminars and jointly sponsored activities that are local, national, and international in scope.

- To promote communication between Creighton University School of Medicine, practicing physicians, and other health care professionals so as to assess and meet their educational needs. Communication tools will include conversations, current program evaluations, surveys, focus groups, and other technologies.

- To develop and promote CME activities for Creighton University School of Medicine alumni. The CME Division will work closely with Alumni Relations to identify educational needs of our medical alumni and develop CME activities to address those needs.

- To collaborate with teaching and community hospitals by helping to assess and meet their CME needs.

- To encourage participation in CME activities by clinical and basic science departments within the School of Medicine through ongoing meetings involving the CME Division, the CME Committee, and Department Chairs.

- To enhance local, regional, national and international recognition of Creighton University School of Medicine and it's Departments, Divisions, and centers through directly and jointly sponsored CME activities.

- To assess on an on-going basis the results and outcomes of the programs sponsored by the CME Division using a variety of assessment tools. This outcomes data will be used in the assessment and planning of continuing and new programs.
